Not wanting the new year to get started just sitting around all day, Jim suggested we take Cork for a walk on Spanish Banks New Year’s Day afternoon. Fleece, our other dog, had been for a long run earlier. Spanish Banks is a series of beaches along the shore of English Bay that are popular for walking, biking, picnicking, swimming volleyball and other beach sports. There are great views of English Bay, West Vancouver and beyond and Downtown Vancouver.

We also saw logs, flowers and barnacles and seaweed on rocks.

We even saw a few “polar bears” out taking the plunge.

What great views! No wonder you love it up there. We had snow here last nite and today but it is all gone now.
We do love it here. I bet the snow was pretty, it’s nice when it melts away quickly if you have to be out and about. Hope you have a great year.
Feel like I was out there walking with you – and wish that I was!
Thanks, it was nice…and I wish you could have been walking with us.
How come you didn’t go for a quick dunk?
Are you kidding me? That water is cold!
